Nicole and Dave’s Engagement Session!

We had an amazing time with Nicole and Dave at their engagement session earlier this month. They are such a fantastic couple; we can’t wait for their wedding in September… and a week later we’ll get to shoot them in Paris, our favorite city, what a dream!

We decided to meet at Volunteer Park on Capitol Hill. We had fun hanging out with them and wandering around the park.

After the park we headed down to Pike Place and Post Alley. At the moment Dave lives in Sun Valley and Nicole lives in Portland, so it was fun to capture some “Seattle” shots with both of them.

A Soolip Wedding!

Things have been quite hectic around here lately! I’ve been lucky enough to travel down to L.A. with the Junebug girls a few times in the last 6 months. Junebug is expanding to Southern California and we’ve been meeting with vendors (Mindy Weiss and Elizabeth Messina to name a couple of my favorites!) and learning more about the area. On our last trip we were the official photographers for the A Soolip Wedding show. It is a high end bridal show held in an old empty cathedral in downtown LA… so beautiful!!! I had to share a few of my shots…

The models and the dresses from Kirstie Kelly Couture were amazing!!! I couldn’t stop shooting the girls :)

I loved being able to get backstage, it was fun to see all the work going on behind the scenes…

Instead of a regular runway fashion show the girls walked around the floor independantly in different dresses all afternoon. It was fun to have them mingling with the brides and to see the dresses up close!

The people at the show were so great, we even had a few celebrity sightings… yes, that is Rachel Hunter below with one of the wedding show’s founders, Wanda Wen! :)

There has been a lot going on around here lately! We are excited to say our work is being featured in two magazines that are on the stands now, Seattle Metropolitan Bride and Groom and 425 Magazine!

Seattle Met is featuring Courtney Gregoire and Scott Lindsay’s August 2008 wedding in their Real Weddings section! Here is what it looks like: (you can click on the images to make them bigger!)

I’ve also been busy at work on Junebug Weddings lately! This past month I’ve been compiling images from the best photographers in the world to put together our new Fashion Report: The Best From the Best, featuring the most stunning wedding images of 2008…

We also just launched a whole new section called Groombug that has tons of great tips and info for the guys, everything from honeymoons to proposals!

Last week, Junebug also featured one of my favorite weddings of the year on the What Junebug Loves blog and in the real weddings section… I loved Justine and Kurt’s French themed wedding!

Ashley & Junebug Weddings’ Summer Update!

We’ve had a great Summer so far… Adam’s niece, Ashley, (above) was just here visiting us for 2 weeks. We loved having her around, she fit right into our hectic lifestyle… she even came with us to photo shoots and helped me adjust photos for clients! Thanks for spending time with us Ashley :)

I’ve also been busy working on Junebug Weddings‘ new Summer Fashion Report featuring photos from the wedding planning book we’re writing!!
Adam and I had such a great time at Pravda (see previous post) and at our house (see previous post) shooting for Junebug :).

I love the behind the scenes photo that Adam captured above, and seeing what we were actually shooting below…

I also really loved the mantilla style veil below… I couldn’t stop shooting it!!

Julie from Bella Rugosa brought the amazing tabletop set-up (shown above and below) to our house to photograph! It was all designed by Jody Taylor-Smith of Good Taste Events (she is an absolutely wonderful wedding coordinator, we were lucky to work with her at Diane and Mark’s wedding last summer!)

Fun at Pravda!

Adam and I had a great time this week shooting product at Pravda Studios for the Junebug Weddings book. We shot everything from dresses, veils, and lingerie to cakes, flowers, and place settings. Erin Skipley and her assistant Chelsea did all the hair and makeup. My Junebug partners, Christy and Blair, were there orchestrating the whole event… thank goodness for Christy’s organizational skills and Blair’s amazing eye for light!

Life at our house…

Life around our house has been really fun lately, we’re fully immersed in a huge Junebug Weddings project, producing and sourcing around 500 photos for a nationally published wedding planning book due out in 2009!!!
Blair and Christy (my Junebug partners) are busy writing the book while our house has been turned into a professional photo studio. Adam even moved one of our computers out into the living room so that I can shoot right into the computer and it will pop up on the big screen! LOVE IT!

Today we shot diamonds!! We went “shopping” this morning at EE Robbins in downtown Seattle for our favorites, brought them home and started shooting. The photo below is Christy covered in white so that her reflection doesn’t show in the ring.

Below is the ring she was shooting…. it featured a new type of setting in wedding rings, French Pave, which I LOVE… so dainty and sophisticated.

Maddie loves to be in the middle of all the action….

We shot invitations last week, and had over 100 different invitations here at the house to play with… I love the wording of the directions below from mmm… paper (click on the photo to enlarge).

Blair was over the other night to help me with a few of the photos, it was so fun to watch her balanced up on the ladder… engrossed in her subject :).

Christy is loving our brand new 100mm/2.8 macro lens. It is so fun to see how close you can get to your subject and still maintain focus… really, a ton of fun for us photo nerds :).
